Walnut, Calif. – After dropping four straight, the Mt. San Antonio College Baseball Team stepped up when it counted, earning a 2-0 shutout victory over Los Angeles Harbor College in their South Coast Conference opener. With the win, the Mounties improve to 4-9 overall and 1-0 in SCC play, while the Seahawks move to 4-9 overall and 0-1 in conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

In a game dominated by pitching, Mt. SAC starter Tomas Bilvado delivered a masterclass performance. The right-hander went the distance, tossing a complete-game shutout while facing 32 batters over nine innings. He allowed just four hits, issued zero walks, and struck out 10. Bilvado was excellent from start to finish, throwing 87 pitches — 64 for strikes — to secure the win.

On the other side, LA Harbor's Lucas Bauer kept things tight, pitching six innings and allowing five hits and two runs while striking out seven. Danilo Meade and Victor Morales combined for relief work to close out the game.

Offense was limited for both teams, as they combined for just nine total hits.

The Mounties broke through in the bottom of the fourth when Brock Foulds singled to bring home Chip Mertz for the game's first run. In the sixth inning, Andrew Alva came up clutch with a double that scored Foulds, providing the second and final run of the night.

Despite temperatures in the upper 40s, the Mounties stayed locked in to grind out the two-hour, 16-minute victory and start conference play on the right note.
