Walnut, Calif. – Capping off a remarkable 45-6 season that ended with Mt. SAC capturing its first 3C2A State Championship in 60 years, the final accolades of the year have been announced—and they’re big ones.

Head Coach John Knott has been named the 2025 ABCA/ATEC Pacific Association Division Regional Coach of the Year for Southern California and the 2025 ABCA/ATEC National Coach of the Year for the Pacific Association Division.

These prestigious honors are awarded by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and selected by the ABCA All-America & Coach of the Year Committees, recognizing top coaches across nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II, and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school.

Knott’s leadership was instrumental in turning a talented roster into a championship-winning team, guiding Mt. SAC to one of the most successful seasons in program history. This year, the Mounties not only brought home a state title but also featured multiple state statistical leaders, regional players of the year, All-American selections—and even the National Player of the Year.

Coach Knott will be formally honored on Friday, January 9, 2026, during the ABCA Convention in Columbus, Ohio, taking the main stage just before the clinic sessions begin.
