Mounties Earn Top Seed for 2025 SoCal Regionals, Host College of the Desert

Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Baseball Team enters the 2025 3C2A Southern California Regionals as the No. 1 seed after an exceptional regular season, finishing with a 35-5 record. The Mounties are set to face off against the No. 24 seed, College of the Desert (23-16), in a best-of-three playoff series beginning Friday, May 2. All games will take place at Mt. SAC's own Mazmanian Field.

The Mounties have been dominant offensively throughout the season, boasting a team batting average of .376 and an impressive .546 on-base percentage. Over 40 games, Mt. SAC has scored 471 runs, blasted 33 home runs, and stolen 73 bases. Key players fueling this offensive powerhouse include Landon White, who is hitting .472 with 92 hits, 27 doubles, four home runs, and 61 RBIs. Infielder Ty Thomas adds to the firepower with a .402 average, six home runs, 62 RBIs, and 14 stolen bases. Outfielder Bryan Bradshaw has also stood out with a .425 average, seven home runs, 11 stolen bases, and 35 RBIs. On the mound, standout pitcher Izeah Muniz leads the way with 96 strikeouts over 80 innings, a 2.36 ERA, and 10 wins.

College of the Desert enters the series with a team batting average of .319 and a .439 on-base percentage. The team has scored 324 runs and hit 13 home runs in 39 games. Key contributors include pitcher James Williams (74 innings pitched, 66 strikeouts, 3.87 ERA), Jacob Glazener (67.2 innings, 64 strikeouts, 4.52 ERA), and standout hitters Connor Martin (.377 average, 17 stolen bases, 33 RBIs) and Michael Gonsalez (.357 average, 18 stolen bases, 32 RBIs).

Game one of the series is scheduled for Friday, May 2, at 2:00 PM, with game two set for Saturday, May 3, at 11:00 AM. If necessary, a deciding game three will follow on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Come out and cheer on the Mounties as they begin their journey toward the 3C2A State Championship!
