
Walnut, Calif. – In their final home game of the 2025 regular season, Mt. SAC earned a 5-2 victory over Long Beach City College on Thursday, April 24. The win boosts the Mounties' record to 33-5 overall and 20-2 in South Coast Conference play. The Vikings drop to 19-19 overall and 12-10 in conference action.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Mt. SAC got on the board early in the bottom of the first inning with a Ty Thomas double that brought in Bryan Bradshaw for a 1-0 lead.
Long Beach responded in the top of the fourth when Myles Fendrick doubled to score Max Ghiglieri, tying the game 1-1. The Vikings then took a brief lead as Logan Thurman's groundout brought in Eshua Desai, making it 2-1.
The Mounties answered right back in the bottom half. Bradshaw's single scored Jackson Giacone to even the game at 2-2, and Landon White followed up with a clutch double to drive in Noah Rodriguez, giving Mt. SAC a 4-2 advantage.
An insurance run came in the eighth when Tyler Stull crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly from Cole Nachreiner, sealing the 5-2 win.
On the mound, Hudson Castillo was solid through seven innings, facing 30 batters while giving up seven hits, two earned runs, and striking out six. Joey Peralta handled the eighth, and Sam Silversmith shut the door in the ninth with a flawless 1-2-3 inning.
