Fullerton comes from behind to defeat Mt. SAC Baseball

(Fullerton, CA) Three late runs turned an 8-7 deficit into a 10-8 non-conference win for host Fullerton College (6-4) over Mt. San Antonio College (6-3) on Thursday, Feb. 15.

The Hornets jumped out to a 4-0 lead through two innings, but the Mounties tied the score at four midway through the fourth. The teams played even from there until Mt. SAC took an 8-7 lead on a two-out double by Nick Mejia (3-4, 2 RBI, 2B) that scored Bradyn France (1-5, 2 R, RBI, 3B) in the top of the seventh. It was all Fullerton from there.

Daniel Briones (3-4, 2 R, SB), Joel Gutierrez (2-4, R), Kaden Moeller (1-5, R, 2B), Andrew Ramirez (1-2, R, 2B), and Andrew Walters (1-4, R, RBI, HR) were also key to the Mounties' offense.

Reliever Seth Wrightstone (0.1 IP, 2 R, 2 ER) got the loss for Mt. SAC, falling to 0-1 on the season. Starter Matthew Lorenzano went four innings, allowed seven runs (all earned), and struck out two.

The Mounties return home to host Mt. San Jacinto College (8-2) in a non-conference game at noon on Saturday, Feb. 17.
