Orange Coast comes from behind to defeat Mt. SAC Baseball

(Walnut, CA) A four-run eighth inning sparked a 6-5 come-from-behind non-conference win for Orange Coast College (9-3) over host Mt. San Antonio College (4-7) on Saturday, Feb. 18. The loss is the sixth consecutive for the Mounties.

Top offensive performances for Mt. SAC included Michael Flores (1-3, 2 R), Joel Quemada (1-3), and CJ Ontiveros (1-4, R, 3 RBI, HR). Elijah Pelayo (1-4, RBI) stole a base for the Mounties.

Reliever Trent Merrill (0-3) picked up the loss, throwing two innings, allowing one run (earned), and striking out three. Starter Alec Beck pitched four innings, allowed one run (earned), and struck out three.

Mt. SAC will open its South Coast Conference schedule at home in the first of a three-game series against Cerritos College (4-7) on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. Game 2 will be in Norwalk on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. and Game 3 in Walnut on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 12 p.m.
