L.A. Harbor ends Mt. SAC Baseball's 11-game win streak, Mounties tied for first in SCC

(Wilmington, CA) Mt. San Antonio College's 11-game win streak came to an end as host Los Angeles Harbor College (8-21, 5-13) handed the Mounties an 11-6 South Coast Conference defeat on Saturday, April 2, to close out the teams' three-game series.

Top hitters for Mt. SAC (21-7, 11-4) included Brent Cota (3-5, R, RBI), Art Ruiz (2-3, R, RBI, 2B, 3B), Blake Borgogno (2-4, R), Elijah Pelayo (1-4, R, 2B), and Will Bermudez (1-5, R, RBI, HR). Borgogno and Nin Burns II each stole a base for the Mounties.

Starter Alec Beck (2-1) got the loss, pitching 4.2 innings, allowing four runs (all earned), while striking out two.

Tied for first with Pasadena City College (22-7, 11-4) in the SCC standings, Mt. SAC will open a three-game conference series against East Los Angeles College (15-14, 11-7) in Monterey Park on Tuesday, April 5, at 2:30 p.m.
