Baseball runs win streak to 10 in opening game of three-game series with L.A. Harbor

(Wilmington, CA) Mt. San Antonio College (20-6, 10-3) opened a three-game South Coast Conference series against host Los Angeles Harbor College (7-20, 4-12) with a 15-7 win on Wednesday, March 30. The victory is the Mounties' tenth in a row.

Mt. SAC jumped out to a 4-0 lead through two, only to see the Seahawks respond with four in the bottom of the third. Both teams tallied three runs in the fourth to knot the score at 7. From there, it was all Mounties as they posted eight runs over the next five innings to seal the victory.

Starter Michael Flores improved to 8-1 on the season for Mt. SAC, pitching seven innings, allowing seven runs (five earned), while striking out six.

Will Bermudez (3-5, 5 R, 3 RBI, 2B, 3B), Brent Cota (2-3, 3 R, 3 RBI), Elijah Pelayo (2-3, 2 R, 2B), Blake Borgogno (1-3, R, RBI, 3B), and Critstian Enriquez (1-6, R, 4 RBI, HR) helped spark the Mounties' offense. Bermudez (2), Cota (2), and Pelayo accounted for Mt. SAC's stolen bases.

Game 2 of the series will take place in Walnut on Thursday, March 31, at 2:30 p.m., and Game 3 in Wilmington on Saturday, April 2, at 12 p.m.
