Baseball opens three-game series with win over Cerritos

(Norwalk, CA) Trailing 1-0 through three, Mt. San Antonio College (17-6, 7-3) scored three runs in the fourth and four in the seventh en route to a 10-6 victory over host Cerritos College (8-15-1, 4-9) in the opening game of a three-game South Coast Conference series on Tuesday, March 22.

Starter Michael Flores (7-1) picked up the win for the Mounties, throwing seven innings, allowing two runs (one earned), while striking out seven.

Top hitters for Mt. SAC included Nin Burns II (3-4, 2 R, 2 RBI), Robbie Mansour (2-3, 2 R, 3 RBI), Cristian Enriquez (2-4, RBI), Brent Cota (2-5, R, RBI, 2B), and Elijah Pelayo (2-5, R).

The Falcons and Mounties will face each other again in Game 2 of the series in Walnut on Thursday, March 24, at 2:30 p.m., and in Game 3 in Norwalk on Saturday, March 26, at 12 p.m.
