(Walnut, CA) After losing to Long Beach City College in Game 2 of a three-game South Coast Conference series on Thursday, Mt. San Antonio College (11-6, 3-3) bounced back with a 17-2 win at home against the Vikings on Saturday, March 5. With the victory, the Mounties took two out of three from the Vikings (9-8, 4-2).
Starting pitcher Jeffery Isenhart (6 IP, 1 ER, 3 SO) got the win for Mt. SAC, improving to 2-0 on the season.
The Mounties tallied 16 hits in the game, with top offensive performances by Brent Cota (3-4, 2 R, 3 RBI, 2B), Will Bermudez (3-5, 5 R, RBI, 2 2B), Damien Delgadillo (2-2, 2 R, RBI), Cristian Enriquez (2-4, 2 R, 4 RBI, HR), Elijah Pelayo (3-4, 3 R, 2 RBI), and Art Ruiz (1-5, 4 RBI, 2B). Blake Borgogno (1-4, R, RBI) had a triple for Mt. SAC while teammate Robbie Mansour (1-4, R, RBI) had a double.
The Mounties will hit pause on SCC play while they tend to a couple of non-conference games at home. First up is Barstow College (3-13) on Tuesday, March 8, at 5 p.m., followed by Cerro Coso Colleg (10-8) on Thursday, March 10, also at 5 p.m.
