Baseball drops second in a row in series-concluding game against Pasadena

(Walnut, CA) In the decisive game of a three-game South Coast Conference series against Pasadena City College (10-4, 2-1), host Mt. San Antonio College (9-5, 1-2) lost to the Lancers, 4-3, on Saturday, Feb. 26. This followed a 10-5 Pasadena win on Thursday and a 24-9 Mountie victory on Tuesday.

Trailing 2-1 through five, the Lancers tallied two runs in the top of the sixth to take a 3-2 lead. Mt. SAC responded with a run in the bottom of the same inning to tie the score. Pasadena then scored what proved to be the decisive run in the top of the eighth.

Blake Borgogno (2-4, RBI), Cristian Enriquez (1-4, R, RBI, HR), and Elijah Pelayo (1-3) were among the top hitters for the Mounties. Will Bermudez (1-4, R) had a double in the losing effort.

Damian Torres (1-1) got the loss for Mt. SAC, throwing 1.2 innings in relief of starter Jeffery Isenhart (6 IP, 3 ER, 4 SO).

The Mounties will start a three-game SCC series at home against Long Beach City College (8-6, 3-0) on Tuesday, March 1, at 2 p.m. Games 2 and 3 will take place in Long Beach on Thursday, March 3, and in Walnut on Saturday, March 5.
