(Costa Mesa, CA) Following an offensive explosion on Tuesday, Mt. SAC (7-7) was held to only three hits in a 4-1 loss to host Orange Coast College (11-2-1) on Thursday, May 6.

Hector Almaraz (1-2, R, 2B), Nick Lugo (1-3, RBI), and Micahel Rosales (1-3) accounted for the Mounties' hits on the day.

Mt. SAC starter Michael Ortega (2-1) got his first loss of the season, throwing five innings, allowing three runs (two of them earned), and striking out eight.

The Mounties and Pirates will square off again on Friday, May 7, at Mt. SAC in Games 3 and 4 of the four-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. The second game is slated for 5 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no spectators will be allowed.
