(Compton, CA) Visiting Mt. SAC (13-8, 4-6) scored seven runs in the first and eight runs in the ninth to cruise to a 17-1 South Coast Conference win over Compton College (3-18, 0-7) on Monday, March 9.

Michael Gutierrez (1-0) pitched seven innings, allowed one hit, surrendered no runs, and struck out seven to get the win for the Mounties.

Cole Jordan (2-4, RBI, R, 2 SB), Albert Luevano (2-4, RBI, R), Caleb Ellis (2-3, RBI, 2 R), and Nick Lugo (3-5, 4 RBI, 2 R, 2B, 2 3B) were among the players who contributed to Mt. SAC's offensive outburst.

Weather permitting, Mt. SAC and the Tartars will face off again on Thursday, March 12, at 2:30 p.m. in Walnut, and in Compton on Saturday, March 14, at 12 p.m.
