Pasadena Rolls to SCC win over Mounties

(Walnut, CA) In the first of a three-game series, Pasadena City (20-9, 12-6) jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, handing host Mt. SAC (16-16, 10-7) a 17-4 South Coast Conference loss at Mazmanian Field on Tuesday.

Caleb Eills (2-for-3, 2 R), Albert Luevano (2-for-4, 2 R, 3B), and Dylan Zavala (2-for-4, 2 RBI, 2 2B) were the top batters for the Mounties. Tyus Santa Anna drove home a pair of runs for Mt. SAC on sacrifice flies in the second and eighth innings.

Starting pitcher Christian Longoria (4-4) got the loss for Mt. SAC, throwing 4.1 innings and striking out three. The Mounties used six pitchers on the day.

Mt. SAC and Pasadena will face off in SCC games again on Thursday, April 11, at 2:30 p.m. at Pasadena and on Saturday, April 13, at 12 p.m. at Mt. SAC.
