(Walnut, CA) In the third of the three-game series, Mt. SAC (15-11, 9-2) earned a 5-2 South Coast Conference win over Rio Hondo (8-14, 4-7) on Saturday at Art Mazmanian Field. A game-suspended continuation of Thursday's matchup at Rio Hondo was concluded prior to Saturday's scheduled game. The Mounties won that game in 10 innings, 1-0.

With two outs in the top of the 10th, Albert Luevano (2-for-4, R, SB) singled for Mt. SAC then advanced to third on a single by Tyus Santa Anna (1-for-3). Kyle Koontz (3-for-5, RBI) followed by driving home what proved to be the decisive run for the Mounties with a single to score Luevano.
Steven Ordorica (3-0) stifled a Roadrunner rally in the bottom of the 10th to secure the win in relief of starter Noah Woodall (8.1 IP, 9 K, 0 R) for Mt. SAC. Ordorica pitched 1.2 innings and struck out two.
Jacob Dominguez (2-for-3, SB) also played well for the Mounties.

The Mounties scored all of their runs by the end of the fourth inning, tallying two in the first, two in the third, and one more in the fourth.
Top offensive performances for Mt. SAC included Michael Sandoval (2-for-4, 2 RBI, 2R), Albert Luevano (2-for-4, RBI), Jacob Dominguez (2-for-4, R), Caleb Eills (1-for-3, RBI, 2 R, SB), and Kyle Koontz (1-for-2, RBI).
Christian Longoria (4-2) picked up the win for the Mounties, pitching five innings, striking out five, and allowing one unearned run. Steven Ordorica earned his third save of the season by throwing one inning of relief in the ninth.
Mt. SAC has won six straight and nine of its last 11. The Mounties return to action on Tuesday, March 26, at home in an SCC game against Long Beach (15-10, 9-2) at 2:30 p.m. The Vikings are currently riding a seven-game win streak of their own.
