Big Innings Lift Riverside to Non-Conference Win over Mt. SAC

(Walnut, CA) A five-run fourth inning sparked Riverside (3-2) to an 8-1 non-conference win over host Mt. SAC (2-2) on Wednesday night, giving the Tigers their second win over the Mounties in as many days.

Starter Jacob Kampen (1-1) got the loss for Mt. SAC, throwing 3.2 innings, allowing five hits, striking out two, and giving up two runs, both of them unearned. Dylan Needham tallied 10 strikeouts in three innings of relief for the Mounties and kept Riverside scoreless from the seventh inning on.

Tyus Santa Anna scored the only run of the night for Mt. SAC, scoring on a two-out single by Albert Luevano in the bottom of the sixth.

The Mounties will host San Diego Mesa (1-3) on Friday, Feb. 1, at 12 noon.
