Sophomore pitcher Josh Avila (7-4) won his team-leading, seventh game of the season, allowing a solo run and struck out seven batters.
The Mounties conclude the season with a pair of three-game series against Chaffey and Pasadena City College beginning Tuesday.
Leading the offensive explosion for the Mounties was freshman first baseman Jacob Castillo (4 for 5, 2 runs, 3 RBIs). He also had a double and two stolen bases.
For the second time in the last three games the Mounties banged out 14 hits.
Three other Mounties added two hits apiece – left fielder Andrew Garcia (2-3, 2 runs, dbl.), third baseman Ray Mata-Lemos (2-4, dbl., RBI) and center fielder Quinn Cotter (2-4).
Mt. SAC scored three runs in the first for the 3-0 lead, followed by a pair of runs in each of the third, fifth and sixth innings before Citrus would spoil the shutout in the bottom of the sixth with a run.
Also adding a double each was freshman second baseman Andre Riveroy and freshman third baseman Conner Shepherd.
