Under the Lights, Mt. SAC Delivers Double Sweep

Walnut, Calif. – In their first night matches of the 2026 season, the Mt. SAC Women's Beach Volleyball Team delivered a pair of dominant 5-0 sweeps over the Riverside City College Tigers and Irvine Valley College Lasers Thursday evening. With the statement victories, Mt. SAC improves to 6-2 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Mounties set the tone early, with every pair winning in straight sets. At No. 1, Emma Carson and Eva Fisher battled through a tight first set before pulling away for a 22-20, 21-13 win. Kayla Staveley and Yaretzi Silva followed with a composed 21-19, 21-17 victory at No. 2. Sydney Valentine and Morgan Wilson controlled the court at No. 3, cruising to a 21-11, 21-15 win. Bella Fairley and Jasmyn Stampley continued their strong season at No. 4, winning 21-8, 21-18. Rounding out the sweep, Bella Ross and Veronica Estrada sealed the 5-0 result at No. 5 with a gritty 22-20, 21-18 finish. One match down. One sweep secured.

If the first sweep was impressive, the second was even sharper. Carson and Fisher dominated at the top spot, rolling to a 21-12, 21-9 victory. In a lineup adjustment at No. 2, Staveley paired with Wilson and didn't miss a beat, defeating their opponents 21-17, 21-11. Mayah Tiscareno stepped into the lineup alongside Silva at No. 3, and the duo delivered identical 21-16 set wins. Fairley and Stampley stayed hot at No. 4, overpowering their opponents 21-12, 21-9. To cap the night, Estrada teamed up with Kacey Worcester at No. 5 to lock in the second 5-0 sweep with a 21-8, 21-18 win.

Two matches. Ten pair victories. Zero dropped sets. Under the lights, the Mounties were simply untouchable.

NEXT UP:

The Mounties will trade sunshine for stadium lights once again as they host San Diego Miramar Jets (2-4) and Moorpark College Raiders (5-1) on Wednesday, February 18, beginning at 5:00 PM.
