(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Beach Volleyball team had a huge day on Friday, February 17, as it swept Fullerton (5-0) and Moorpark (4-1) in an impressive double-header. The Mounties now boast a 6-1 record and are among the top three teams in the state.

"We finished off the week with another two wins," Mt. SAC Beach Volleyball coach Danielle Diaz said. "It was a windy day, but we were very impressed with the team and how they were able to adjust to it and make the necessary changes to still be successful, regardless of the elements.

"Our 2's, 4's and 5's pairs continue to be undefeated so far. I'm really proud overall but know that we need to continue to put in the work and keep improving."

The 1's team of Allison Whiteman and Bristol Christelman had to fight hard against Moorpark but managed to come back and win the second set, 21-19. Their effort was backed up by the other four pairs - 2's (Paige Gutowslki/Riley DeGroot), 3's (JJ Quarrels/Riannel Arevalo), 4's (Elizabeth Ortiz/Capri Salmon) and 5's (Angelina Burton/Savanna Corrales) - all of whom won their respective matches in straight sets.

The Mounties will now look ahead to their next two non-conference matches at Newland St. Courts in Huntington Beach on February 24, against opponents Santa Ana and Palomar.
