Monique Cabrera enters her second year (2025) as an assistant coach for the Mt. SAC Women’s Wrestling Team.

A Southern California native, Cabrera attended South El Monte High School, where she later served as the girls’ head wrestling coach from 2014 to 2018. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Menlo College, where she captained the Women’s Wrestling Team and competed in the 63-kilo weight class. A two-time All-American athlete, Cabrera also served as the college’s student government president. During her competitive wrestling career, she earned California State Champion and CIF Regional Champion titles.

Cabrera’s extensive coaching experience includes serving as head coach at Beat the Streets Los Angeles (2015–2020) and assistant girls’ wrestling coach at Life Pacific University (2019–2020). She has also held the role of head kids’ coach and operations director at Selva Mixed Martial Arts Academy for the past 12 years, where the academy has proudly claimed six Kids National Championships in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Outside of work, Cabrera is an accomplished Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner with a black belt and was a World Team member for Team USA from 2008 to 2010. She also enjoys practicing yoga.

Cabrera and her husband, Jason, live in Los Angeles with their children, Seferino and Serafina.
