Danielle Diaz currently serves as an assistant coach for the Mt. SAC Women’s Beach Volleyball Team. Diaz has been part of the coaching staff since the team’s inception in 2018, playing an integral role in establishing the beach program. In early 2020, she was named interim head coach and was officially appointed as head coach on March 2, 2020. She continued to lead the program through significant milestones and now supports the team in her current assistant role. In addition to her coaching duties, Diaz has also assisted with the Women’s Indoor Volleyball Team since 2017 and has served as an adjunct professor of kinesiology at Mt. SAC since 2019.

Under her leadership, Mt. SAC Beach Volleyball reached new competitive heights. In 2025, the Mounties captured their second South Coast Conference Championship title with a 16-9 overall record and a 7-1 conference mark. Diaz coached the standout pair of Candace Ceballos and Madeline Castillo, who qualified for the 3C2A Pairs State Championship and finished ninth out of 235 pairs statewide.

In 2023, Diaz helped guide the program to its most successful season in school history. The team secured its first-ever South Coast Conference Championship with a perfect 8-0 conference record and a remarkable 23-2 overall record (.920). Ranked No. 3 in the state, the Mounties advanced to the SoCal Regional Playoffs. That season, three of the team’s five pairs qualified for the 3C2A Regional Pairs Tournament, with two pairs advancing to the State Championship—marking another first for the program. One of those pairs closed the season ranked among the top 10 in California, and nine players earned All-South Coast Conference honors.

Before joining Mt. SAC, Diaz coached for three years at Club Green Volleyball in La Habra. In 2016, she was head coach of the girls’ frosh/soph team at Whittier Christian High School, leading them to an undefeated season and a league title. In 2017, she coached the boys’ junior varsity team and directed the strength and conditioning program, again helping the program secure a league championship.

Diaz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton (2017), and a Master of Science degree in Coaching and Exercise Science from Concordia University (2019).
