Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country repeats as SCC champs

(Palos Verdes Estates, CA) Behind seven top-20 finishes, the Mt. San Antonio College Women's Cross Country team captured the South Coast Conference title with 40 points on Friday, Oct. 28, at the Palos Verdes XC Course. El Camino College finished second with 49 points and Cerritos College came in third with 61 points.

This is the second SCC title in a row for the Mounties and the sixth in the last 10 years.

In a field of 44 runners, Mt. SAC's Hannah Brown posted the best time on the five-kilometer course at 19:27.4. Mountie runners to place in the top 20 included Claudia Vera (20:27.3, 4th place), Cassandra Apahidean (21:59.3, 10th), Brenna Butler (22:34.9, 13th), Alondra Morales-Espinoza (23:09.1, 15th), Allison Gutierrez (23:12.1, 16th), and Kayla Estrada (23:52.9, 20th).
