(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Water Polo team easily defeated visiting Chaffey College, 22-6, in a South Coast Conference game on Wednesday (Sept. 20).

With the win, the Mounties improved to 2-0 in conference and 4-3 overall.

Sophomore 2-meter Elizabeth Chong led the Mounties with five goals (5 shots). Sophomore driver Jayde Gutierrez (5 shots, 4 Stls.) added four goals and freshman utility Gianna Gomez (3 shots) had three goals.

Three players – Brianna Solis (2 Shots, 2 Stls.), Morgan Hoove (2 Shots, 2 Stls.) and Viviana Gill (3 Shots, 1 Stl.) had two goals apiece.

Sophomore Kelly Jackson (8 Saves, 2 GA, 2 Assists., 1 Stl.) and freshman Morgan Bowen (5 Saves, 4 GA) split time in goal for the Mounties.

The Mounties scored 16 first-half goals to put the game away early.

This weekend (Sept. 22,23) the Mounties will be hosting their annual Mountie Classic.
