
Mission Viejo, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field Team delivered a strong performance at the 3C2A Southern California Prelims held at Saddleback College on Saturday, May 3. Following the day's events, the Mounties are currently tied with West Los Angeles College for the top spot.
In the 10,000-meter race, Tigist Bergman secured fourth place with a time of 38:35.15. Carlota Romay Rega took third in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in 15.52 seconds. In the 400-meter hurdles, Alyssah Johnson finished third with a time of 1:06.91, while Romay Rega followed closely in fourth place with a time of 1:05.88.
The steeplechase saw strong performances from Yadira Arnold, who finished second with a time of 11:38.26, and Ava Cornell, who placed third at 11:37.06. The 4x100-meter relay team—comprised of Hawkins, Cruser, Stauffer, and Champion—finished in third place with a time of 48.63 seconds.
In field events, Romay Rega earned third place in the high jump, clearing 4', 11". In pole vault, Sofia Di Marco took second by clearing 11", 1.75", and Samantha Diener secured fourth place with a vault of 10', 8".
Alessandra Jefferson placed second in the triple jump, reaching a distance of 35' 9.25". In the hammer throw, Araxy Chivchyan earned fifth place with a mark of 13' 6". Maya Rush delivered a second-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 121" 3".
