
Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field Team delivered a strong and well-rounded performance at the Mt. SAC Community College Relays on Saturday, April 12, held at their home venue, Hilmer Lodge Stadium. The Mounties showcased both talent and depth across sprinting, distance, hurdle, and field events—highlighting their momentum as they gear up for the postseason.
Kahlai Cruser led the charge on the track, taking first place in the 400 meters with a time of 57.61. In the 1500 meters, Kaitlyn Reyes clocked 4:56.55 to earn second, followed closely by Yadira Arnold in fourth (4:58.01) and Isabella Flores in fifth (5:02.41). Flores also returned later in the day to place fourth in the 5000 meters (19:43.10), showing impressive endurance across events.
The sprint events saw Leila Champion secure a fifth-place finish in the 100 meters (12.28). In the 100-meter hurdles, Alyssah Johnson grabbed third with a time of 15.72, while Leilani Centeno finished fifth (17.00). Johnson was back on the track for the 400-meter hurdles, finishing second in 1:05.27, and teammate Carlota Romay Rega followed in fourth at 1:06.64. Rebekah Cueva made her mark in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing second with a time of 12:56.23.
In the 4x400 relay, the team of Megan Stauffer, Karrina Mackey, Johnson, and Cruser combined for a strong second-place finish with a time of 4:07.15.
In field events, the Mounties showed their strength, starting with the pole vault, where Sofia Di Marco took third (11' 5.75") and Samantha Diener followed in fourth (10' 11.75"). Annah-Bryce Wright earned fourth place in the long jump (16' 8.75"), while Alessandra Jefferson claimed a big win in the triple jump, leaping 38' 0.75" for first place.
The throwers continued the team's success. Phoenix Raso placed third in the discus (119' 10") and added a second-place finish in the javelin (105' 8"). Araxy Chivchyan secured second in the hammer throw (126' 2"), with teammates Sidney Sparks (122' 7") and Brooke Welliver (118' 6") finishing fourth and fifth respectively.
Overall, the Mt. SAC women tallied top-five finishes in 17 events, with first-place performances in both the 400 meters and the triple jump.

The Mounties will hit the road for the South Coast Conference Prelims on Tuesday, April 22, hosted by Long Beach City College. They'll return to the same venue for the Finals on Saturday, April 26, as they continue their pursuit of conference titles.
