Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field earns second-place finish at RCC Invitational

(Riverside, CA) With 159.5 points, the Mt. San Antonio College Women's Track and Field team finished in second place at the RCC Invitational at Riverside City College on Friday, March 3. UC Riverside took first place with 166.5 points and Cal State San Bernardino came in third with 115.5.

On the day, Mountie athletes captured first in four events, second in five, and third in four.

First-place finishes for Mt. SAC included Amari Weatherford (100 meters), Delayshia Allen (100-meter hurdles), 4x100 relay (Weatherford, Jaiden Hill, Tatiana Sprock, Charisma Collins), and Bailie Horton (pole vault).

Summer Stevenson (triple jump), Faythe Berge (pole vault), Aaliyah Mendoza (high jump), Claudia Vera (1500 meters), and Hill (100 meters) turned in second-place finishes for the Mounties.

Third-place performances for Mt. SAC included Yasmeen Delgado (400 meters), McKenna Venegas (long jump), Sahira Lepes Sanchez (shot put), and Brooke Shiflett (javelin).

The Mounties will next compete in the Ben Brown Invitational at California State University Fullerton on Friday and Saturday, March 10 and 11. The team's distance runners will participate in the Occidental Distance Carnival at Occidental College on Saturday, March 11.
