Women's Soccer Opens South Coast Conference Play on Tuesday

(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Soccer Team (2-4) will open up South Coast Conference (North) play, on Tuesday, against visiting Pasadena City College at 4:00 pm.

This season the Mounties are led by freshman forward Kaliah Redwood (Chino Hills HS), with four goals, followed by freshman forward India Hines (La Salle HS) with three goals.

Last Friday, the Mounties lost by a goal (2-1) to uptown rival Citrus College, but exploded for a season-high seven goals against Golden West College in the prior week.

Against Golden West, Hines scored her first hat trick as a Mountie (3 goals), while Redwood and sophomore forward Arye Looney (La Puente HS) had two a piece. Goalkeepers Britain Chaputa (San Dimas HS) and Riley Barbata (Charter Oak HS) combined for the first shutout of the season for the Mounties.
