Mt. SAC Men’s Wrestling Team Claims Victory at Lemoore College Invitational

The Mt. SAC Men's Wrestling Team took first place at the Lemoore College Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, September 28 scoring a total of 175 points. The Mounties secured their win with five individual first-place finishes, two second-place finishes, four third-place finishes, four sixth-place finishes, and one eighth-place finish.

Fresno City College came in second with a score of 130, while Modesto Junior College followed in third with 107.5 points.

Notable first-place finishes from the Mounties include Jason Saenz (133 lbs.), Maxximus Martinez (157 lbs.), Jack Estevez (165 lbs.), Jakob Hand (174 lbs.), and Mo Talebi (184 lbs.).

Rylan Madrid (125 lbs.) and Aldo Quintero (149 lbs.) earned second place in their weight classes, while Luis Solis (133 lbs.), Nicolas Naranjo (149 lbs.), Javier Montes (174 lbs.), and Roman Loya (184 lbs.) each claimed third place in their respective divisions.

In addition to his first-place individual finish, Talebi was named Outstanding Upper Weight of the tournament. Head Coach David Rivera commented on the team's performance, saying, "Mo had a great tournament, and we are very proud of him, but as a team, we still have a lot of improvements to make."

The Mt. SAC Men's Wrestling Team will next compete at the Modesto College Invite on Saturday, October 5.
