Mounties Men's Wrestling takes first at Santa Ana Invitational

(Santa Ana, CA) For the third time in as many meets this season, the Mt. San Antonio College Men's Wrestling team placed first, this time at the Santa Ana College Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 30. In a field of 10 teams, the Mounties compiled 202.5 points for the top spot, while Sacramento City College (170.0) and Cerritos College (150.5) finished second and third, respectively. In 10 weight classes, Mt. SAC wrestlers placed in the top three in seven of them.

First-place performances for the Mounties came from Chris Calderon (125 lbs.), Zachary Parker (141 lbs.), Jacob Gamino (157 lbs.) and Nathan Cruz (174 lbs.).

Isaac Lopez (197 lbs.) and Pedro Lacerda (133 lbs.) placed second in their categories for Mt. SAC, while teammates Emilio Medina (133 lbs.) and Caidence Turner (165 lbs) placed third in theirs.]

The Mounties will go for their fourth meet victory of the season at the Modesto Junior College Tournament in Modesto on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 9 a.m.
