Walnut, Calif. – A historic milestone was reached on Thursday, April 17, as Mt. San Antonio College Softball Head Coach Rubilena Rojas secured her 400th career victory with the Mounties following a 10-2 win over Pasadena City College. Rojas now holds an impressive overall record of 400-90, boasting a .816 winning percentage.

Rojas joins an elite group of coaches in Mt. SAC history, standing alongside former softball head coach Kelly Ford, who tallied 465 wins during her legendary tenure. This achievement highlights the continued excellence and dominance of the Mt. SAC Softball Program.

Achieving this milestone in just 12 seasons—including a shortened 2021 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic—Rojas has built an incredible résumé. She guided the Mounties to back-to-back 3C2A State Championships in 2018 and 2019, two additional State Runner-Up finishes, and has led the team to eight South Coast Conference Championships. She's been named SCC Coach of the Year five times and has earned the prestigious SCC All-Sports Coach of the Year award three times.

Her teams have posted eight 40+ win seasons, and her 2014 squad made history with the highest team batting average in 3C2A history (.428). Under her leadership, countless athletes have earned All-SCC, All-State, All-American honors, along with MVP and Player of the Year accolades. Her passion for softball, dedication to the young women who play the sport and the energy she brings to the program cannot be praised enough.

"Coach Rojas exemplifies what it means to be a true leader and role model," said Athletics Director Joe Jennum. "Her dedication to excellence, her ability to inspire, and the culture she has built within the softball program are second to none. Reaching 400 wins is a remarkable milestone, but it's the impact she's had on her players' lives that truly defines her legacy. We're incredibly proud and grateful to have her at Mt. SAC."

Assistant Coach Anthony Gonzalez added, "I'm super proud of Ruby and what she has accomplished – 400 wins and many more to come! Congratulations to a great mentor, coach and friend."

Congratulations to Coach Rojas on this phenomenal achievement. Mt. SAC is proud to have you, and we can't wait to see what the future holds—here's to the next 400!
