Mt. SAC Softball wins fourth straight, shuts out Fullerton, 3-0

(Fullerton, CA) The Mt. SAC Softball team continues is early season winning streak with its fourth victory in a row with a, 3-0, nonconference shutout over host Fullerton on Wednesday, January 31.

Sophomore pitcher Aleyna Urbina (2-0) went the distance, scattering five hits, allowing one walk, and striking out two Hornets.

Offensively, the Mounties were led by two players – sophomore shortstop Janis Espinoza (2 for 4, RBI, SB) and freshman right fielder Audrey White (2 for 2, R, Dbl.) – two hits each.

All three runs in the game were scored in the fifth inning.

Four of the seven hits by the Mounties came in the fifth, as pinch runner Katie Griego, sophomore left fielder Emily Bechtel, and White all scored.

Weather permitting, the Mounties travel to West Valley College in Saratoga for a doubleheader on Saturday (Feb. 3). West Valley is the host of this year's 3C2A State Championships May 16-19.
