
Oxnard, Calif. – In a competitive four-mile race at the Oxnard Invitational on Friday, September 5, the Mt. SAC Men's Cross Country Team took second place with a group score of 41 points. Cerritos College claimed the team title with 19 points, followed by El Camino (107), Chaffey (112), and host Oxnard (121) rounding out the top five.
Dillon Hightower led the Mounties with a fourth-place finish, clocking in at 21:31.2. Right behind him was Diego Varela in fifth at 21:32.7. Jacob Diaz also cracked the top 10, taking eighth in 21:40.6, while Alfredo Vargas finished 12th with a time of 21:49.4.
Jonah Botello (14th, 21:55.1), Logan Berkley (15th, 21:56.2), and Derek Campos (16th, 21:57.5) were the final three Mounties to contribute to the team score.

The Mounties will compete at the Cougar Challenge hosted by Cal State San Marcos on Saturday, September 13.
