Mt. SAC Men’s Water Polo Defeats El Camino 17-4 in SCC Action, Finishes Second in Conference

(Torrance, CA) The Mt. SAC Men's Water Polo team secured a resounding 17-4 victory over host El Camino College, earning them second place in South Coast Conference action on Wednesday, October 25.

With this win, the Mounties improved to an overall record of 18-7 and a conference record of 3-1.

Mt. SAC will conclude the regular season with two games in the Southwestern College Tournament this Friday, before the SCC Championships commence on Thursday, November 2, at Long Beach City College.

The Mounties were led by freshman utility player Aidan Gillooly (3 steals), who scored a game-high five goals, while Jude Solis contributed with two goals.

Three players—George Roby-Unkovich (2 steals), Alex Lopez, and Brandon Fabrega (4 steals)—each scored two goals for the Mounties. Lopez led the game with six steals.

Mt. SAC took a 6-3 lead at halftime and sealed the game in the third period with seven goals, reaching a score of 13-4.

Five different players scored in the first half, with Lopez leading the way with two goals.

Gillooly was the standout player during the seven-goal outburst in the third period, contributing three goals.

Mt. SAC's freshman goalie, Elijah Swaim, made five saves during the game.
