Mt. SAC Men’s Soccer Shuts Out L.A. Harbor, 2-0

Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team

(Wilmington, CA) The Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team recorded its fourth shutout of the season and defeated host L.A. Harbor, 2-0 Tuesday afternoon in a South Coast Conference crossover game.

With the win, the Mounties improved to 10-3-2 overall, as they have gone 6-1-1 in their last eight games.

Goalie Alain Hernandez, who stopped all three of the Harbor shots, recorded his fifth win and second shutout of the season for the Mounties. 

After a scoreless first half, Mt. SAC scored two late goals for the victory.

Scoring the first goal was forward Giovanny Garcia (Alan Piceno) in the 72nd minute to lead 1-0. That was followed eight minutes later (80th minute) by a score from midfielder Marty Raygoza (Tristan Sprague) for the final 2-0 win. 

Garcia's goal was his 13th of the year, which places him tied for third in the state. 

The Mounties continue their SCC crossover action this Friday October 19 at Mt. SAC versus El Camino College at 4:00 pm.
