Men's Soccer Defeated In State Championship By Hartnell, 0-1

(Sacramento, CA)  For the first time in four years the California Community College Athletic Association, Men's Soccer Champion will not be from Walnut, California.  Despite a valiant effort, the Mounties (South #1) were defeated, 0-1, in the state championship final by North Champion, Hartnell College (19-4-3).  The lone goal coming in the middle of the second half, when center Joni Cruz headed the ball into the far post off of a corner kick. 

The Mounties finish the season with a 17-4-4 record, South Coast Conference Championship and an appearance in their 5th consecutive CCCAA State Championship Men's Soccer Final.

Congratulations to Head Coach Juan Sanchez, his players and staff for another outstanding season.
