
San Jacinto, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Men's Golf Team secured a second-place finish at the Mt. San Jacinto College Eagle Classic on Monday, February 17, at Soboba Springs Golf Course. The Mounties posted a team score of 383, narrowly missing out on first place to Orange Coast College (381). Reedley College (384) rounded out the top three in a tightly contested tournament.
A total of 10 schools competed in the event. Cypress finished fourth with a score of 394, followed by College of the Desert (401), Victor Valley (404), and Cuyamaca (409). Rounding out the field were Riverside City College (420), Mt. San Jacinto College (430), and El Camino (432).
The Mounties had two golfers make the podium. Hayden Beltran claimed low medalist honors with an impressive score of 73, while team captain Jacob Riegg finished third after a card-off, posting a 74.
Other notable performances for Mt. SAC included Cameron Miller (75), Spencer Ramirez (80), James Bergman (81), and Aaron Duran (85).
Reflecting on the team's performance, Head Coach Art Guevara expressed optimism about their progress. "Our team shot a 383, which was very close to actually winning this event. The team is getting better with every week that goes by."
