(Victorville, CA) In the first action on the links in over a year, the Mt. SAC Men's Golf team finished second in an Orange Empire Conference match Tuesday (April 13) at the Spring Valley Lake Golf Club.
The Mounties (375) finished just six strokes behind leader Saddleback (369) in the seven-team conference, hosted by Victor Valley College.
"It's not what we wanted, but a good start to the season, nonetheless," Mt. SAC Golf coach Greg Osbourne said.
Leading the way for the Mounties with a 74 (4 over par) was sophomore Bryan Saw. He finished in a tie for fifth out of a field of 39 golfers.
Saw was followed by teammates Amaan Patel (75), Chu-Wen (Felix) Tsui (75), Brandon Winters (75), Benjamin Sanders (76), and Aidan Taylor (79).
The low medalists of the match were Theoren Delehanty (Riverside City College) and Chase Bosanko (Saddleback College) with a 70 (2 under par).
Mt. SAC, which finished sixth in the last CCCAA State Championships in 2019, will continue with OEC match play Monday, April 19 at Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside. Cypress College will host the event.
