Mt. SAC’s Dylan Stone Advances to CCCAA State Men’s Golf Championships Second Year in a Row

(Chino Hills, CA) Dylan Stone, who is on the Mt. SAC Men's Golf Team, has qualified for the second year in a row for the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships.

Stone will represent Mt. SAC at the CCCAA State Championships at Sandpiper Golf Club in Goleta on Monday May 14.

Stone, who was competing as an individual representing Mt. SAC, after the men's team didn't reach the So Cal's as a team. He finished with a 36-hole total of 152 (76-76).

"Dylan played his heart out," Mt. SAC Men's Golf coach Greg Osbourne said. "Bakersfield Country Club is a difficult golf course and he played it to the best of his ability."

"He vaulted our golf program."

Stone qualified for So Cal's with a 2-over-par 148 (72-76) at the Orange Empire Conference Championships on April 30.

At the CCCAA So Cal's at Bakersfield, Stone shot a one-over 37 in the mornings' first nine holes as he began with five straight pars and birdied the 597-yard, par-5 sixth hole.

On the back nine, Stone finished with a 3-over par (39) that began with birdie on the tenth hole. He finished with five pars for a 4-over (76).

In the afternoon, he carded five pars and a birdie to highlight his first nine holes for a 39.

He finished the championships as he started, with consistent play over the final nine holes with five consecutive pars to start the back nine. His only blip was a bogey on the sixth, but finished up with three pars, to once again finish with a score of 76.
