(Walnut, CA) The #2 nationally ranked Mt. SAC Football Team gave it all they had, but in the end came up a little short, loing to visiting Bakersfield College, 30-21. The loss ends the teams season with an 11-1 record and a National Division Southern Conference Championship. The loss also ends the Mounties consecutive Southern California Championship Streak at 5 and their 11 consectuive win streak.
The Mounties had a hard time controlling the Bakersfield Defense who did a great job of covering the normally explosive Mt. SAC Receivers and applying constant pressure on Mt. SAC Quarterback, Nick Montana.
"My hats off to the Bakersfield College Football Team and Staff, they played an incredible game," replied Mounties Head Coach, Bob Jastrab. "I am proud of the way our team performed, but this time we came up short. I want to thank the Mt. SAC Administration, Staff and our incredible fans for tremendous support you have given us this season."
Bakersfield College moves on to the State Championship Game where they will face Northern California Champion, San Francisco City College at home on December 8th.
Congratulations to Mt. SAC Head Coach Bob Jastrab, his staff and the Mt. SAC Football Team for another outstanding season!
