Mountie Baseball completes sweep of L.A. Harbor in convincing fashion

(Wilmington, CA) Following a 4-1 South Coast Conference win over Los Angeles Harbor College on Friday, March 31, Mt. San Antonio College (12-17, 5-10) defeated the Seahawks (8-23, 4-14) again, 19-2, on Saturday, April 1, to close out the teams' three-game series.

Up 2-1 through three innings, the Mounties exploded for six runs in the bottom of the fourth to blow the game open and never looked back.

Top offensive performances for Mt. SAC included Joey Rossetti (4-5, 2 R, RBI, 2B), Blake Hagerty (2-3, R, 3 RBI, 2 2B), Travis Hobbensiefken (2-4, 3 R, 2 RBI), Joel Quemada (2-2, 2 RBI), and Gibby Morales (2-5, 2 R, 3 RBI, HR), among others.

On the basepaths, CJ Ontiveros (1-1, 2 R, 2B) and Quemada stole bases for the Mounties.

Throwing six innings, starter Sam Silversmith (1-1) picked up the win for Mt. SAC,.allowing one run (earned) and striking out three.

The Mounties will face Citrus College (8-19) in a two-game non-conference series that begins at Citrus on Tuesday, April 4, at 2:30 p.m. Game 2 will be in Walnut on Thursday, April 6, at 6 p.m.
