(Pasadena, CA) Leading 2-1, Mt. SAC (10-5, 1-3) allowed three runs in the bottom of the eighth to give host Pasadena City College (8-8, 2-2) a 4-2 lead that proved to be the final score in a South Coast Conference game on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Zack Bromstead (0-1) got the loss for the Mounties, surrendering two runs. Michael Gutierrez struck out five Lancers in 3.2 innings of relief of starter Noah Woodall (3.2 IP, 2 H, 1 ER).
Tyus Santa Anna (2-2, RBI), Cole Jordan (1-3, RBI, SB), Ryan Williams (1-3, R), and Cameron White (1-4, R, 2B) were the top offensive players for Mt. SAC. In addition to Jordan, Albert Luevano, Jacob Moreno, Omar Veloz, and Fabian Moran also stole bases for the Mounties.
Mt. SAC will host Pasadena for the second game of the three-game series on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. The final game of the series will take place on Saturday, Feb. 29, at Pasadena at 12 p.m.
