Mt. SAC Closes Conference Play with Two 5-0 Sweeps

Long Beach, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Beach Volleyball Team closed out conference play at Rosie's Dog Beach on Friday, April 10, sweeping both Rio Hondo and College of the Desert 5-0 in a pair of statement wins. With the victories, the Mounties improve to 16-8 overall and lock in a second-place finish in the South Coast Conference with a 7-3 record.

At the top spot, Emma Carson and Eva Fisher set the tone early, powering past their opponents in straight sets, 21-15, 21-18.

The No. 2 pair of Kayla Staveley and Morgan Wilson delivered one of the day's most valiant performances. After dropping the first set 18-21, they flipped the momentum and stormed back with a strong 21-11, 15-8 finish to secure the point.

Jasmyn Stampley and Bella Fairley kept things rolling at the No. 3 spot, battling through a tight second set to win 21-15, 22-20.

In the No. 4 spot, Mayah Tiscareno and Jeanie Rhodes were in complete control, cruising to a 21-14, 21-7 victory.

Isabella Ross and Veronica Estrada brought the excitement in the No. 5 pairs. After splitting the first two sets, they exploded in the third with a dominant 15-2 performance to seal the match—and the sweep.

The Mounties didn't slow down in their second matchup of the day.

Carson and Fisher once again led the charge, edging out a tough first set before closing it out 23-21, 21-17.

This time, Staveley teamed up with Yaretzi Silva in the No. 2 spot, and the duo delivered a strong straight-set win, 21-16, 21-15.

Stampley and Fairley stayed consistent at No. 3, earning another solid victory, 21-17, 21-13.

Tiscareno and Rhodes continued their dominant run, controlling the No. 4 spot with a 21-11, 21-9 win.

And to cap off a perfect day, Ross paired with Kacey Worcester and made quick work of their opponents, 21-6, 21-11.

The Mounties head to the South Coast Conference Pairs Championships at Long Beach City College on April 17-18, looking to keep their momentum rolling.
