Mt. SAC Secures Third Straight Week of Wins with Conference Sweep

Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Beach Volleyball Team is on a roll, picking up their third straight week of wins with a pair of conference victories over Rio Hondo and Cerritos in their final Friday night matches of the season.

Mt. SAC vs. Rio Hondo – Mounties Win 4-1

The Mounties came out firing and never looked back.

At the No. 1 spot, Emma Carson and Eva Fisher set the tone, cruising to a 21-16, 21-9 win over Nymeria Puga and Aliana Isabelle Paxon.

In the No. 2 spot, Kayla Staveley and Morgan Wilson battled hard but fell in two sets to Osyris Roldan and Isabella de la Pena (19-21, 8-21).

Jeanie Rhodes and Yaretzi Silva teamed up in the No. 3 position and delivered in the clutch, edging out a tight 21-17, 21-19 victory to keep the Mounties rolling.

Jasmyn Stampley and Bella Fairley dominated from start to finish in the No. 4 spot, earning a decisive 21-8, 21-15 win over Lyllianna Aguayo and Emily Maldonado.

To seal the deal, Bella Ross and Veronica Estrada secured the fourth point by forfeit in the No. 5 spot, locking in a strong 4-1 team victory.

Mt. SAC vs. Cerritos – Mounties Edge It 3-2

This one was exciting! Two matches went the distance as the Mounties dug deep to come out on top in a thrilling 3-2 win.

Carson and Fisher put up a fight in the No. 1 spot but came up just short in a pair of close sets, falling 18-21, 20-22.

Staveley returned to the sand alongside Yaretzi Silva in the No. 2 spot and bounced back in a big way, taking down Roselyn Tobie and Tiffany Teats 21-13, 24-22.

In one of the most exciting matches of the day, Fairley and Stampley dropped their first set but stormed back to win the next two (21-12, 15-8), clinching a crucial point for the Mounties in the No. 3 spot.

Rhodes paired with Mayah Tiscareno in the No. 4 position and made quick work of their opponents, dominating 21-10, 21-9.

The No. 5 match kept fans on edge, as Veronica Estrada and Bella Ross split the first two sets before narrowly falling in the third, 11-15.

The Mounties return home to host Long Beach City College on Friday, April 3 at 10:00 AM. It's a big conference matchup—and a special one—so come out to support the team and celebrate Sophomore Day as we honor the Mounties moving on to their next chapter!
