Mt. SAC’s Tammy Knott-Silva to Be Inducted into Citrus College Athletics Hall of Fame

Walnut, Calif. – Mt. San Antonio College’s Associate Dean and Associate Director of Athletics Tammy Knott-Silva will be inducted into the Citrus College Athletics’ Hall of Fame on Friday, April 11. The ceremony, marking the college’s second Hall of Fame class, will take place at the Citrus College Handy Campus Center.

Knott-Silva is being recognized for her time as a student-athlete in which she competed on the volleyball, basketball and track and field teams from 1996-1997. She was awarded the Foothill Conference MVP as a freshman after leading the state in kills and was a two-time All-Foothill Conference selection. Her legacy endures, as she remains fourth in program history for single-season kills and third in total blocks.

Following her time at Citrus, Knott-Silva continued her athletic career at Southeastern Louisiana University on an athletic scholarship, competing in both volleyball and basketball for the Lions. She later returned to Citrus from 2003 to 2006 as a professor and Head Coach of the Women’s Volleyball Team, transforming the Owls’ program into a powerhouse.

Since joining Mt. SAC in 2019, Knott-Silva has played a vital role in the success of the Athletics Programs and Kinesiology Department. Her induction into the Citrus College Athletics Hall of Fame is a testament to her dedication, leadership, and impact on collegiate athletics.

Congratulations to Tammy Knott-Silva on this well-deserved honor!
