Tony Torres enters his 13th season on the Mt. SAC Football coaching staff as the Defensive Line Coach. 

Torres played defensive tackle for Mt. SAC under Head Coach Bill Fisk during the 1997 and 1998 seasons where he earned the team’s Coaches Award and the Mountie Iron Award for being the strongest player on the team.   

A 1999 graduate of Mt. SAC, he is the only person in Mt. SAC Football History to win a National Championship as both a player (1997) and as a coach (2009, 2010).    

Torres went on to earn a scholarship to play defensive tackle for Eastern Illinois University under Head Coach Bob Spoo during the 1999 and 2000 seasons, where he was teammates with current Dallas Cowboys Quarterback, Tony Romo. 

A 2001 graduate of Eastern Illinois University, Torres teaches math at Mt. SAC in the Learning Assistance Center and is also an intermediate school Geometry and Algebra 1 teacher. 

Torres is an avid power-lifter, former wrestler, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu fighter and MMA practitioner.
