Coach George Barnes begins his eighth season with the Mounties Baseball Program, bringing great enthusiasm and discipline to the program. He is in charge of the pitching staff and recruiting.
Prior to Mt. SAC, he served as pitching coach at Charter Oak High School and Chaffey College (2 years).
During the summer off-seasons, Coach Barnes spends time as the pitching coach for the Brewster Whitecaps and the Chatham A’s in the Cape Cod Summer Collegiate League. He also spends time coaching for the Mark Creasse School of Baseball.
Coach Barnes played for East Los Angeles College and competed in the State Baseball Championships. He went on to play at Azusa Pacific University where he received his Bachelors Degree. After graduating from APU, George spent two seasons playing for the Pensacola Pelicans of the Southeast Independent Professional Baseball League.
George is currently working on his Masters Degree at Azusa Pacific University.
Coach Barnes resides in Hacienda Heights with his wife Teresa. And their daughters Avery and Jordan.
