The leader for the Mounties with a match-high 17 kills was freshman outside hitter Andrea Brewer. She also contributed 13 digs and 1 assist. Freshman outside Candace Ceballos (10 D, 2 SA) added 14 kills, while sophomore OH Melissa Polich (.600 K%, 6 D) added 10 kills.

The Mounties bounced back twice in the match, trailing, 1-0, and tied it, 1-1 and trailing 2-1 and evened the match, 2-2.

After losing the opening set, Mt. SAC led the entire second set to even things up, 1-1. They won it on a block at the net by Campbell.

The third set was a back-and-forth battle that extended into extra points. The Mounties had a set point at 24-22 due to a service error by the Huskies. However, they were outscored 4-0, allowing ELAC to take a 2-1 lead in sets.

Once more, the Mounties fought back to tie the set at 2-2 after taking an early 10-7 lead. Trailing, 21-20, Mt. SAC won five of the last seven points, highlighted by a kill by Brewer to send the match to a fifth set.

In the fifth and deciding set, the Mounties took a 4-1 lead, highlighted by two kills from Campbell and freshman opposite Sam Parks. ELAC took its first lead, 8-6, and it was a back-and-forth match to the end. A late kill by Ceballos tied the set, 12-12, but two consecutive points by the Huskies gave them a match-point, 14-12 lead. A service error by the Mounties gave ELAC the match win.
