(Fullerton, CA) The 2023 edition of the Mt. San Antonio College Women's Soccer team opened its new campaign in convincing fashion with an 8-0 non-conference victory at Fullerton College (0-1) on Tuesday, Aug. 29.

Natalia Reyes scored the first goal of the game and season for the Mounties (1-0) on an assist from Kristin Mijares in the 21st minute. Reyes added another goal on an assist from Gabriella Sanchez in the 65th minute to give Mt. SAC a 3-0 lead.

Veronica Aquino (Elena Ochoa assist, 31st minute), Jasmine Delgado (unassisted, 46th minute), Brianna Bernal (Kathryn Davis assist, 69th minute), Savannah Parker (Zuhayle Diaz assist, 84th minute), Bernal (Parker assist, 88th minute) and Yaritza Chavez (unassisted, 90th minute) accounted for the rest of the Mounties' scoring.

Anai Olmedo (65 minutes, two saves) and Karissa Macias (25 minutes, one save) combined in goal to hold the Hornets scoreless.

Mt. SAC will open its home schedule with a game against Palomar College (0-0) in the opening round of the 2023 Mt. SAC/Nike/Azteca Soccer Tournament on Friday, Sept. 1, at 5:30 p.m. In the second round, the Mounties will face San Joaquin Delta College (0-0) on Sunday, Sept. 3, at 12 p.m. Both games will be played on the West Field.
