Mt. SAC Men's Track and Field Team Captures 2015 CCCAA SoCal Championship!

(Norwalk, CA)  The Mt. SAC Men's Track and Field Team moved one step closer in their quest for a 2015 CCCAA State Championship by capturing the California Community College Athletic association (CCCAA) Southern California Track and Field Championship.  The Mounties scored 160.5 points to outdistance themselves from defending state champion Riverside City College who took second place (122.83 points) and third place team/host Cerritos College (79 points).  The Mountie Women battled hard to score 101 points to take third place.  Host Cerritos College, captured the women's championship with 133.5 points and runner-up Riverside City College scored 131.5 points. 

Individual SoCal champions for the Mounties include:

The Mounties will advance 13 women and 21 men to this weekends CCCAA State Track and Field Championship to be held this Friday and Saturday, May 15th and 16th at the College of San Mateo (San Mateo, CA).  On the women's side, the Mounties have qualified for 17 individual events and both relays, while the men have qualified for 21 individual events and both relays.  The women will battle for the state championship with Cerritos, Riverside City and Sequoias while the men are expected to battle for the state championship with the Sequoias and American River.
