Mountie Men's Track and Field win SCC title for third consecutive season in dominating fashion

(Torrance, CA) For the third consecutive season, and the eighth in the last 10, Mt. San Antonio College claimed the conference title at the South Coast Conference Championships held at El Camino College on Saturday, April 27. The Mounties compiled 498.66 points, while Cerritos College took second with 100.5 and Long Beach City College came in third with 84.33.

Mt. SAC's domination of the meet included 18 first-place, 13 second-place, and 13 third-place finishes in 20 events. In addition, Mountie competitors occupied the top three positions in 10 events, the top four in three, the top seven in two, and the top five in one.

First-place performances on the track came from Drew Hill in both the 100 meters and 200 meters. Jaylend Howard (400 meters) and Jordan Berkley (800 meters, 1500 meters) dominated the middle distances. Andrew Tafolla (5000 meters), and Ian Crocker (10,000 meters), Christian Baker (110 hurdles), Devin Paton (400 hurdles, long jump), Jude Enriquez (3000 steeplechase), the 4x100 relay team (Hill, Jake Jensen, Caleb Harrell, Asani Hampton), and the 4x440 relay team (Romello Jenkins, Paton, Thomas Scrofano, Howard). Quintin Dukes (pole vault), Jerry Roberts (triple jump), Dominic Tubbs (discus, javelin), and Jesus Isiordia (hammer).
